An opinion from the Minnesota Attorney General says the city of Forest Lake has authority to require that subdivision developments include affordable housing and that developers agree to reasonable measures.The ruling, signed by Attorney Gen. Lori Swanson and issued on Oct. 25, follows a city request for an opinion on a proposed local plan to encourage affordable housing by city ordinance.
