The turnout for the Republican runoff was nearly as good as the GOP primary June 1, but the Democratic turnout fell considerably with only one statewide race on the ballot.
The turnout traditionally declines from the primary to the runoff because there are fewer races to draw voters.
The GOP primary June 1 drew 492,897 voters, while unofficial returns for the runoff Tuesday show 465,281 people voted for governor.
