State House Democrat leaders Thursday lost a battle with state Attorney General Tom Corbett against his office’s acquisition of 20 boxes of records in the “bonusgate” grand jury probe.
Mr. Corbett, a Republican, is investigating to determine if some or all of $3.6 million in bonuses to staffers in the state legislature came in return for campaign-related work. The figure includes money given out by leaders of all four General Assembly caucuses, but House Democrats paid out $1.9 million, much more than any of the other three.
