Democrat Jack Conway defeats Republican Stan Lee to be the state’s next attorney general. This is a hold for Democrats.
Republican Secretary of State Trey Grayson is re-elected over Democrat Bruce Hendrickson.
Mississippi: (Click state for results)
Republican Phil Bryant is elected Lieutenant Governor over Democrat Jamie Franks – this is a hold for Republicans.
Republican Delbert Hosemann is elected Secretary of State over Democrat Rob Smith – this is a pick up for Republicans.
Incumbent Democrat Attorney General Jim Hood defeats Republican Al Hopkins.
Republicans lose no seats in the State House of Representatives, and lose 2 seats in the State Senate.
New Jersey: (Click state for results)
Republicans lose 1 seat in the State Senate, and gain 2 seats in the State Assembly.
Virginia: (Click state for results)
Republicans lost 4 seats and control of the Virginia Senate.
Republicans lose only 3 seats and retain control of the Virginia House with either a 7 or 8 seat majority pending final vote counts.
