Passage of this bill is a big deal. Republican House Speaker Jon Husted deserves a good chunk of credit here. You can expect Ohio’s Democrat governor to sign this bill into law, or he’ll face an angry mob of parents and students at his door step.
Tougher rules to deal with teacher misconduct are on their way into law after winning approval from the Ohio House yesterday. Both Republicans and Democrats said the new regulations are just the beginning, with more changes aimed at keeping children safe coming. The measure, House Bill 190, passed 95-1.
