This certainly won’t go over well, at least initially, with the municipal governments. Their fear – not getting the state funds to pay for the improvements and repairs, and being stuck with the blame.
GOP lawmakers outlined their transportation agenda Monday, listing their priorities for the 2008 Legislature that starts in January.Rep. Glenn Vaad, R-Mead, said the state’s highway needs have changed since the state built roads linking farms to their local communities and are now based on urban development, not agricultural markets.
