This is what’s called attempting to change the subject. House Democrats don’t want the lead headlines about them going into 2008 to be about using taxpayer funds to pay state employees to do campaign work. So what do you to – talk about open government…irony?
HARRISBURG — House Democrats said Monday they would attempt to move a new open records bill that closely follows an approach being considered by the Senate, but goes a step farther by fully applying the law to the Legislature.The announcement by Majority Leader Bill DeWeese, D-Greene, followed a sequence of events Monday afternoon in which his party thought the Intergovernmental Affairs Committee had approved a bill to be used as a vehicle for the amendment, only to realize they were a vote short, then failed in an effort to vote on it again.
